You may have realized on your search for how to build a pond that the costs can add up rather quickly. That is why I am here to share with you some great tips to help you build a pond that looks great and doesn’t cost too much.

1. Find a great spot in your yard. Try to make sure that there are no trees and bushes that will shed their leaves into your pond. Another great idea is to place your cheap pond in an area where you can see it from the windows inside, or from your deck or patio.

2. Purchase a small kiddy pool that is the size of the pond you want. You can get these for less than 10 dollars, and it’s a great cheat for how to build a pool easily. You can also usually find these in great shapes that will make your pond very pretty. Some of them are fish, stars, or seashells.

3. Next, place the pool in the area that you will be putting your pond, and mark around it. Dig the hole using the markings for guides. You will place the kiddy pool into the hole, leaving the lip of the pool around 1 to 2 inches above the hole.

4. Spray paint the entire pool black and let it dry overnight.

5. You can add a pump and filter to keep the water moving, and to keep it from getting stagnant. You don’t really have to add this, but a lot of people choose to do so.
